 Idea: Actual Keywords (alternative idea) - 2007/11/14 14:42 Alright,
Bare with me, I've been thinking about quite a few of these ideas for some time and I just decided that I would share them with my favorite tool makers, Monitus.

So, the ROI hack extracts the keyword phrase from referrer info and assigns it to the user defined. What about, instead, taking the keyword phrase from the referrer info and appending it to the keyword phrase from utm_term=
It might look something like this in the Keyword Report:
Suede Shoes (Blue Suede Shoes Lyrics)
We'd have to use filters to group like utm_terms together but I think that this is better than segmenting by user defined because I've started to see some noise in there.

Since you've already got the code to grab the referrer keyword, I would imageing that the coding wouldn't be too difficult.

 Re:Idea: Actual Keywords (alternative idea) - 2007/11/14 18:40 Hmmm... Interesting idea, however... We have taken the very safe approach of being out of Google Aanlytics' way as much as possible... Basically, we are invisible to GA - we just do our stuff in the background, then let Ga run it's course... What you are suggesting would require us to actually go and change the data GA harvested, and I'm not sure we want to go there at this point - a bit too dangerous, we really wouldn't want to break your GA data...

Were keeping it on our idea book, however, maybe it can be used later in some form or another.. .Thanks for the idea!!
