Google Adwords Tracking in Google Analytics - 2006/07/17 23:18
A question about Adwords tracking from one of our subscribers:
QUOTE I have a question about revenue tracking and more specifically adword tracking.
I see in our google analytics acct we are successfully tracking e-commerce transactions, however, it is not being tracked in the CPC analysis areas ('Trans', 'CR', 'ROI', etc..), . Any ideas of what could be happening FYI -- I am trying to look at the success/failure of different adword campaigns that we have set up with Google Adwords. Thanks in advance for your help. UNQUOTE
Answer: In order for Google Analytics to track your Adwords campaigns you either have to use the same username for both Adwords and Google Analytics, or you have to add your Adwords username as an account admin to your Google Analytics account. Once this is set up, Adwords will automatically tag your Adwords ads so that Google Analytics can track them. You also have the option of manually tagging your campaigns if you prefer. See here: http://www.google.com/support/analytics/bin/answer.py?answer=31216
